About us
Bhaasa exists because captioning Nepali, Newari, and other South Asian languages has always been an afterthought for the tools built elsewhere.
Most captioning tools are built around a handful of major world languages, and everything else gets bolted on as an afterthought — if it's supported at all. Creators speaking Nepali, Newari, and other underserved languages are left transcribing by hand or accepting captions that mangle their script and grammar.
We started Bhaasa to fix that from the ground up — routing each language to whichever transcription engine actually understands it well, and building an editor that gives creators full control to fix, style, and translate their captions before publishing.
We're a small team based in Kathmandu, Nepal, building for creators everywhere who deserve captions that actually understand what they're saying.
